What Will The Role Involve

  • As Trainee Technical Author you will evaluate and appraise source technical information supplied by the customer.
  • Estimate, plan, and produce technical information in accordance with appropriate standards and specifications relevant to the project or customer requirements.
  • The opportunity to oversee and provide guidance to other team members and peers on matters of publication, including training, technical accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Undertake day-to-day activities with occasional immediate supervision, non-routine activities may require direct support and guidance.
  • Carry out a peer review of author deliverables.
  • Contribute to team planning, risk management, quality, and business continuity planning.
  • Ensure work done is compliant with the relevant regulations and governance processes as specific in the appropriate project and technical plans.
  • Raise issues of concern regarding product safety, regulatory compliance, or technical risk to the attention of Line Management.
  • Engage in appropriate processes to support and manage their own development and professionalism.
  • Consult with customers and information suppliers as appropriate. Along with Technical Illustrators

Who are we looking for?

  • We are seeking a candidate ideally with an engineering qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
  • Great IT skills in an MS Office environment.
  • The ability to produce or amend engineering drawings would be an advantage.
  • A working knowledge of naval engineering would also be an advantage
  • Flexibility to work under your own initiative as well as part of a dynamic Team.
