Summary :
Join our team at NHS Jobs in Manchester as a Pharmacy Technician. In this permanent, full-time position, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring effective medicines use through patient-facing and supporting responsibilities. Your tasks will include issuing repeat prescriptions, carrying out medicines optimization, supporting medication reviews, and reconciling medications. You will collaborate with patients, ensuring their understanding and effective use of medicines.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct patient-facing roles to facilitate shared decision-making conversations.
Issue repeat prescriptions and perform medicines optimization tasks, such as checking inhaler technique.
Support medication reviews and medicines reconciliation for new patients.
Collaborate with local community pharmacists and specialists for patient care.
Provide lifestyle advice, service information, and assistance in addressing health inequalities.
Take a central role in implementing national prescribing policies and guidance.
Support initiatives for antimicrobial stewardship to reduce inappropriate antibiotic prescribing.
Contribute to the delivery of medicines optimization and management incentive schemes.
Participate in patient safety audits.
Qualifications and Skills:
Accredited Pharmacy Technician qualification.
Strong consultation skills.
Knowledge of national prescribing policies.
Familiarity with antimicrobial stewardship practices.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
