Job Summary

An excellent opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, committed, adaptable individual with an interest in working in Pharmacy Aseptics.

The successful applicant will become part of a busy team working within our licensed aseptic unit at Singleton Hospital offering a high quality service to our Health Board patients. The aseptic unit provides a wide range of injectable medicines in a ready to use form including cytotoxic chemotherapy, monoclonal antibody therapies, parenteral nutrition and clinical trials medicines.

Singleton Hospital looks out over the sweep of Swansea Bay, 5 minutes' walk from the beach and within 15 minutes' drive to the award winning coast of the Gower peninsula, the UK's first area of outstanding natural beauty.

Main duties of the job

Key duties will include the preparation of aseptically manufactured high-risk pharmaceuticals in the clean room environment and the supervision of pharmacy assistants, in conjunction with the senior pharmacy technicians. The post holder will also be required to perform pre and in-process accuracy checks on aseptic Section 10 Exemption production.

Applicants must hold either Science Manufacturing Technician Level

3 qualification or a Level 3 qualification in Pharmacy Services and be registered with the appropriate professional body.

Ideally candidates will have/hold a Pre and In-Process checking within Aseptic Services (PIPC) qualification but will be supported in the department to complete this programme if not.

If you have the ability to work using your own initiative, have good communication skills, a high level of accuracy and are keen to develop your skills this is the job for you!

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
