Oral Care Laboratory Technician - Ashford
Immediate Start | Monday to Friday | 36.25 Hours per Week
We're hiring an Oral Care Laboratory Technician to join our client's team in Ashford on a fixed term contract until the end of this year. This role supports both the Oil and Applications Labs, contributing to product development and quality control in oral care.

Key Responsibilities

Oil Lab Duties:

Compound oral care flavour oils for trials and research based on set formulas.

Ensure quality, hygiene, accurate labelling, and expiry dates.

Incorporate flavours into products like toothpaste and mouthwash for evaluation.

Deliver samples promptly to flavourists and labs.
Applications Lab Duties:

Prepare flavour samples in various product bases for internal teams.

Record batch information and test results accurately.

Store and manage samples and raw materials, ensuring proper documentation and stock levels.

Use appropriate PPE and follow safety protocols.
General Lab Support:

Manage sample paperwork and dispatch.

Use LCMS and SAP to prioritise tasks and track inventory.

Conduct stability testing and assist with documentation updates.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.

Follow GMP guidelines and ensure equipment is calibrated and logged.
Additional Duties:

Collect oils from the compounding factory.

Assist in investigating quality issues and support audits.

Provide cover across both labs during staff absence.

Requirements

Education:

Diploma or technical training in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.
Skills:

Strong attention to detail and record keeping.

Basic math and computer skills (Word, Excel).

Ability to learn systems like LCMS and SAP.

Good organisational and communication skills.

Team player with the ability to work independently.

Ideally familiar with lab practices (GLP, GMP, ISO standards)
