The Company

Join a fast-growing biopharmaceutical company at the heart of Cambridge’s dynamic biotech sector. Dedicated to advancing science at the intersection of biology, engineering, and data science.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager (3–5 years) to design, implement, and improve our core business processes, manage key supplier relationships, and ensure the smooth running of our expanding organisation. You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, helping to build structure while remaining hands-on with daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Development: Build, document, and improve processes for employee onboarding/offboarding, invoice processing, IT support coordination, and supplier management.
  • Supplier & Contractor Management: Act as the first point of contact for suppliers, contractors, landlords, and service providers.
  • Lab and Office Operations: Oversee the smooth running of our facilities and laboratory, ensuring compliance with HSE and maintenance schedules.
  • IT and Admin Coordination: Manage relationships with external IT support and supervise part-time HR admin.
  • Legal Coordination: Handle first-level review of legal documents (NDAs, supplier contracts) and liaise with external counsel as needed.
  • General Operations Support: Be the go-to person for operational queries, supporting a fast-moving and collaborative team.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ experience in operations, office management, or similar roles—ideally within biotech, life sciences, or tech environments.
  • Proven ability to create and improve business processes.
  • Experience managing suppliers and service providers.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and solutions-focused mindset.

Desired Skills

  • Experience managing lab or facilities operations.
  • Familiarity with compliance, HSE, or regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting legal contract processes.
