Commercial Customer Operations Lead - Engineering - £50k - £60k

As a Commercial Customer Operations Lead, you will strengthen customer relationships, ensure satisfaction, and drive operational efficiency.
The Role
As a Commercial Customer Operations Lead, you will be the primary point of contact for our client's corporate customers, ensuring their customer needs are met through seamless coordination between internal teams, including manufacturing. Your role will oversee commercial agreements, monitor performance metrics, and enhance the overall customer experience from enquiry to delivery. This role offers a path to career progression with the potential to succeed as a Commercial Director.
Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between customers and internal departments, providing clear communication and project updates.
  • Drive operational excellence and process improvement within the customer journey to support business growth and scalability.
  • Manage customer contracts, ensuring timely review, compliance, and renewals.
  • Collaborate with operations and manufacturing teams to meet customer requirements and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Monitor on-time, in-full (OTIF) product delivery reporting.
  • Resolved customer queries and concerns promptly, liaising with the quality department to address complaints about commercial impact.
    What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Manufacturing or engineering background, ideally within operations or commercial account management.
  • Demonstratable experience in operational excellence and commercial strategy.
  • Proven experience in Six Sigma methodologies within engineering or manufacturing.
  • Strong relationship management and customer service skills.
  • Experience negotiating and managing commercial terms, contracts, and pricing.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise effectively, and manage the dynamic schedules of senior leaders.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience within sustainability, pharmaceutical, engineering, healthcare, automotive or energy sectors (advantageous).
