Occupational Hygienist - Staffordshire

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Occupational Hygienist to join our Health & Safety or Environmental Risk team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work across diverse sectors - ranging from construction and manufacturing to pharmaceuticals and energy-helping clients manage workplace health risks and ensure regulatory compliance.

As an Occupational Hygienist, you will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and controlling health hazards in the workplace. You'll work independently and within multidisciplinary teams to deliver assessments, monitoring, and practical solutions to reduce exposure risks.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct assessments for occupational exposure to dusts, fumes, noise, vibration, gases, vapours, and biological agents.

Carry out air sampling, noise monitoring, LEV testing, and other workplace health risk surveys.

Analyse monitoring results and produce high-quality technical reports and recommendations.

Advise clients on compliance with UK regulations (e.g., COSHH, Noise at Work Regulations, HSE guidance).

Support the development and implementation of control measures, exposure reduction strategies, and health surveillance programs.

Deliver client presentations and contribute to staff training and awareness.

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to quality standards and ethical practices.

Requirements

Degree in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Health, Chemistry, or a related science/engineering discipline.

Minimum 2-5 years' experience in occupational hygiene or a similar field.

Working knowledge of UK H&S regulations, HSE guidelines, and monitoring methodologies.

Strong analytical and report-writing skills.

Ability to communicate technical findings to a range of stakeholders.

BOHS Certificate in Occupational Hygiene Modules (or working toward Licentiate or Chartered status).

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Desirable Skills

Experience with ISO/IEC 17025-accredited testing.

Familiarity with ergonomics, indoor air quality, or health risk assessments.

Membership of BOHS or Faculty of Occupational Hygiene.
