Are you a scientist experienced in new product development of animal or human food products?

Do you aspire to work for a global animal health organisation with a drive for product innovation and aim to improve animal health?

My Client are a leading animal health organisation, specialising in product development and manufacturing, who pride themselves on the quality and scientific formulations of their products. Due to ongoing growth, they are looking to bring on board a New Product Development (NPD) Scientist, who will help drive the next phase of product innovation through Research and Development (R&D) and into production. As a senior member of the team, you will be able to share your NPD expertise, and own R&D projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about the food industry and eager to contribute to innovative product creation, within an organisation who look to grown and develop their team.

Key Responsibilities of the New Product Development (NPD) Scientist will include;

Lead the creation of new product formulations, taking into account considerations such as ingredient cost, nutritional requirements and palatability.

Oversee and manage development projects, acting as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Address technical challenges during the product development process, implementing solutions to advance R&D.

Undertake product testing using methods such as; sensory analysis, physiochemical testing, nutritional analysis and shelf-life testing.

Provide support, supervision and training within the development team on New Product Development approaches and testing methods.

Work effectively with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Marketing, Sales and Production to guarantee successful product development and launch.

Ensure accurate documentation and records are maintained throughout product development cycle and during product testing and trials.

Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies to support product innovation.

To be considered for this New Product Development (NPD) Scientist vacancy you will need the following skills and experience;

Demonstrable experience within New Product Development (NPD) of food products e.g. human food, pet food or animal feed.

Strong knowledge of product formulation and testing methods e.g. sensory analysis, physiochemical testing, nutritional analysis and shelf-life testing.

BSc / MSc in a relevant discipline e.g. Food Science, Nutrition, Animal Nutrition, Animal Health, Food Production, Chemistry, Biochemistry etc. or equivalent working experience.

Proficiency with MS and Google software including Excel, Word, and Google Sheets.

Proven ability to prioritise workloads and lead R&D projects to completion within agreed timelines.

Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative approach, so as to support relationship building with both internal and external stakeholders.

A valid UK drivers licence with access to a vehicle is strongly desirable due to the location of my clients site(s).
