Job Description: Andersen Caledonia is a fast-growing life sciences company specializing in sterilization and laboratory testing for the medical device, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industry. We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our microbiology laboratory department located in Dunston, Staffordshire ST18 9FJ.
Normal Working Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 09:00-17:00
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Assist the laboratory management in all aspects of compliance with relevant technical and quality standards in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
Perform routine microbiological and chemical analyses and related tasks following relevant standards and company SOPs.
Responsibilities: Perform microbiological and chemical testing using various analytical techniques according to standards and SOPs.
Ensure proper documentation for all samples received to facilitate accurate and timely processing.
Prepare and publish customer reports and provide follow-up support as needed.
Prepare media and perform Media QC.
Carry out goods receipt procedures.
Perform IQC according to the accredited IQC procedure and periodic EQA as required.
Ensure calibration, daily checks, and maintenance are performed in line with company procedures and UKAS accreditation.
Facilitate daily laboratory operations and specific test requirements in response to customer demands.
Qualifications: Degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent qualification.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in a commercial laboratory.
