Location– Hemel Hempstead
Salary– £27,000-£30,000

Are you an experienced Microbiologist? Are you looking for a new challenge? A successful contract testing laboratory is seeking an experienced Microbiologist to join the team at their site in Hemel Hempstead. The company offers testing and analytical services to the food industry. This is an excellent opportunity, ideal for an experienced Microbiologist with some prior experience in a high throughput testing lab such as a contract testing lab or Hospital Lab.

Role Overview

  • Perform Microbiological Analysis and Plate reading of Food, Water and swab samples.
  • Perform quality checks and ensure adherence to guidelines, SOPs and company standards.
  • Support Junior staff and provide training when necessary.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in line with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and UKAS 17025.

Requirements

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant Scientific discipline or equivalent working experience in a Microbiology Laboratory.
  • Experience working in a high volume testing laboratory.
  • Desirable to have experience working in accordance with UKAS ISO17025 requirements.
  • Desirable to have experience with the following techniques/types of analysis: MALDI TOF, VIDAS and a range of food analysis testing: E.coli, Salmonella, Listeria, Yeast and Mould.
