Medical Science Liaison - Hemato-Oncology - UK / FranceBusiness Unit : Medical Affairs Reports to: Field Manager, AmplityHealth Location: UK or France Territory: France, Italy, UK andSpain Individual or Manager: Individual Purpose of Role The MedicalScience Liaison (MSL) is a member of a field-based team of medicalscientists with established personal and scientific credibility whofunctions as an extension of the Medical Affairs organization. Theprimary role of the MSL is to provide fair, balanced, objective,scientific information and education to health care professionals(HCPs) and to internal partners as required by scientific andbusiness needs. The MSL is responsible for staying well-informed ofcurrent scientific and treatment landscape trends in therapeuticarea(s) of focus and for building external relationships with HCPs(M.D., PA, NP, RN, Pharm.D.) and medical thought leaders involvedin various phases of product development. With a strong preferencefor candidates with hemato-oncology experience, this MSL willidentify and engage with key stakeholders across multiple Europeancountries, drive thought leader engagement and gather competitiveintelligence to support strategic decision-making. Additionally,the MSL will play a critical role in supporting and driving theprogress of clinical trials in the AML and MF spaces, ensuringalignment with organizational goals and the timely achievement ofclinical milestones. Will attend congresses and other criticalmeetings. Key Accountabilities: Opinion Leader Engagement Identify,develop and maintain collaborative relationships with current andfuture Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare stakeholders indisease states of strategic importance to the company. Provideadvanced scientific and technical support for KOLs and academiccenters to ensure access to current medical and scientificinformation on SMPA’s products and areas of therapeutic interest.Identify and engage key TLs, HCPs, and investigators in scientificexchange on disease landscape & client assets. Act as primaryliaison to investigators interested in participating inSMPA-sponsored clinical trials and/or developing and performinginvestigator-initiated research. Represent client at selectscientific congresses and professional society meetings Provideclinical presentations and information in response to unsolicitedquestions (as appropriate) in academic, and healthcare providersetting in both group and one on one settings Scientific ExpertiseDeeply understand the unique hemato-oncology treatment paradigm,key stakeholders, and healthcare landscape in your territoryDemonstrate strong strategic thinking and geographical managementskills in building and executing territory plans in alignment withregional and national plans. Enhance knowledge of the competitivelandscape, clinical strategies, and other developments relevant toSMPA with internal stakeholders. Clinical Trial Support Gathercareful insights from KOLs and report back to company to helpdevelop clinical, as well as commercial strategy Act as primaryliaison to investigators interested in developing and performinginvestigator sponsored trials Collaborate with the ClinicalOperations organization to enhance patient enrollment incompany-sponsored clinical trials by identifying appropriateclinical trial sites and interacting with investigators in ongoingstudies. Cross Functional Support Assist as needed to localtactical activities (coverage of presentations at select scientificcongresses, knowledge of contracting local consultants, etc.).Assist in the reconnaissance of Market landscape determination andcompetitive intelligence including therapeutic trends and unmetneeds within the appropriate disease states and marketplace andprovide timely feedback/information on emerging clinical/scientificinformation to internal stakeholders. Respond to unsolicitedrequests from external customers for scientific information andeducation on the disease state and the safe and effective use ofproducts in development, subject to all applicable legal andregulatory requirements. Cultivate scientific and business acumenand demonstrate operational excellence including timely completionof assigned tasks, documentation requirements, milestones, andrequired trainings. Take a collaborative role in developing andimplementing MSL clinical education and scientific programs.Support ongoing mentoring of peers through modeling of SMPA’s corevalues. Compliance Operate in a highly ethical manner and complywith all laws, regulations and policies. Ensure all activities andinteractions are compliant with all applicable local, global andnational laws, regulations, guidelines, code of conduct, Companypolicies and SOPs. Foster accountability via documentation of MSLteam field-based activities and providing special project updates.Adhere to internal standard processes and comply with regulatoryand compliance requirements. Qualifications: Advanced degree inclinical specialty (MD, PhD, PharmD) and previous hemato-oncologymedical science liaison (MSL) experience strongly preferred.Candidates with equivalent experience in relevant fields will alsobe considered. Previous industry medical affairs experiencerequired, preferably in MSL and/or headquartered based medicalaffairs role Demonstrated experience effectively presentingclinical/scientific information required Expert understanding ofthe health care delivery system and its impact on patient care andregional medical care Experience with clinical trial design,conduct and evaluation Demonstrated experience supporting clinicaltrial progress as a field-based member, with a proven ability toengage investigators and drive recruitment.
