Our client, an advancing Biotech with established developments, is building a core UK Medical Affairs group to include a regional associated team of UK based Medical Liaison professionals.

Reporting directly to the UK Medical Affairs Director, the MSL group will work in specific regions and be tasked with the evolvement of engagements at key centres of excellence with the associated peers, clinicians, healthcare professionals and KOLs.

The Medical Liaison for London and South UK will work in conjunction with a collaborative group for the UK including medical, commercial and development - Taking a territory lead in collaborations and insights with the associated healthcare community and driving engagements with relative thought leaders.

The positions requires an established UK based Medical Science Liaison, with proven abilities and credentials in both build planning and preparations for launches, plus post launch activities and ongoing territory assigned management. You will have a demonstrative industry background in high level scientific exchange in a regional UK MSL function, plus proven abilities in assembling and delivering relative scientific and medical information for the associated therapy indication.

It is key to understand the business elements and involvement of a new and developing group and demonstrate the credibility and adaptability to work ‘hands on’ and in an autonomous self-lead environment, combined with a strong team ethic attitude, and knowledge sharing outlook for associated scientific and medical information of relevance. Ideally, you will have worked within the Medical Affairs arena in industry (Biotech/Biopharma or innovative science fields in mid-size Pharma) for circa 4+ years and directly within the MSL function regionally in the UK for 2-3+ years.

Experience aligned working in smaller growth Biotech, or associated new innovative development groups, would certainly be advantageous, combined with the adaptability to ‘do what needs to be done’ and quickly establish relative connections within the associated territory.

Ideally you will have current or prior relative experience and aligns in working on development areas and launch programs within the therapeutic areas of either: Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Liver Disease or Diabetes.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • UK National – Ideally living within the London surround (Or) UK South region
  • Advanced medical/scientific degree: MD / PhD (Or) MSc / BSc / PharmD – Also considered with relative industry Medical Affairs and MSL experience
  • Experience either in industry, research relative, or combined in: Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Liver Disease, Diabetes
  • Direct Medical Affairs industry experience: Circa 4+ Years
  • Working as a UK regional Medical Science Liaison: 2-3+ Years
  • Ability to travel regionally as required - Circa 70-80% weekly
  • Experience working in developing and growth organisations preferable, combined with abilities to be flexible, and work in an adaptable and autonomous manner in a growing organisation, with a strong collaborative and team ethic approach
