The Role

  • My client is recruiting for a highly skilled Mechanical Technician within the Production Team. This is a hands on role for a multi-skilled technician.

    Key Duties and Skills

  • Carry out set up, testing and commissioning of machines for pre-delivery factory acceptance test

  • Mechanical fitting of bespoke machinery

  • Ability to assemble from Technical/Engineering drawings

  • Understanding of Pneumatics and automation systems

  • Installation of Motors, Gearboxes, Belts, Bearings, complex assemblies etc

  • Use of various hand and power tools

  • Machine tool exposure

  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations

  • Competent IT Skills

  • Carry out any additional tasks as required from time to time, provided they are within the competence of the postholder.

  • Assist the Commercial team in customer demonstrations, product trials, technical support, customer visits and at exhibitions as required. This is unlikely – would remove.

  • Support the Production Team Leader with the training of the Mechanical Fitting team

  • Support the ongoing development and review of SOPs

  • Possibly include Fault finding and diagnosis, troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults in bespoke machinery to ensure rapid resolution.

    Essential

  • Excellent Mechanical Engineering skills and experience

  • Experience of commissioning machines for pre-delivery

  • Mechanical fitting experience with bespoke machinery

  • Engineering qualifications / Apprenticeship served

  • Machining skills; such as turning and milling
