The Project

As an experienced and knowledgeable Mechanical Foreman, you will oversee a small team delivering mechanical packages on a refurbishment project in the North West. You will ensure the successful installation, testing, and maintenance of mechanical and fire safety systems. Your expertise will be essential in coordinating resources, providing technical direction, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the project.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

CSCS CardIt is also essential that you hold the experience below;

Demonstrated experience of working in a similar position delivering mechanical packages on new build / refurbishment projects with values exceeding £5m
An extensive background within the industry with at least 3 years of experience operating in a Mechanical Foreman position or similarAdditional skills;

Competent IT / software skills
Comprehensive health and safety knowledge
Effective communication skills, verbal and written
Ability to organise and manage project schedules
Proven ability to lead, support, and direct a team effectively
Knowledgeable of construction processes, techniques, and materials
In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and building processes
Exceptional focus on detail to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications
Proficient in diagnosing and fixing mechanical faults swiftly to avoid delays and maintain operational efficiency
In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and machinery installation and maintenanceThe Role

Duties

Liaise with stakeholders and sub-contractors
Oversee mechanical teams and coordinate daily activities
Track site records, delivering consistent project progress reports
Engage in project meetings, sharing technical input, progress reports, and ideas for improvement
Implement HSE regulations through routine safety briefings, risk assessments, and on-site inspections
Efficiently troubleshoot mechanical faults and apply corrective actions, ensuring minimal disruption to projects
Maintain accurate daily logs covering project progress, workforce details, materials used, and any site issues
Oversee and coordinate mechanical teams on-site, allocating daily tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring work meets required quality standards
Interpret and communicate mechanical design information to site teams, whilst managing any necessary changes in coordination with engineers
Establish work plans and forecast resource needs, overseeing the timely ordering of materials and tools to keep project delivery on track and within financial limits
Collaborate with trades, subcontractors, and management, ensuring alignment with work schedules, resolve site issues, and uphold efficient logistics
Perform checks on mechanical components to confirm functionality and compliance with applicable codes and design specifications
Deliver hands-on training and mentorship to apprentices and junior team members, promoting skill enhancement
Contribute to quality assurance and commissioning efforts, ensuring systems are fully operational, tested, and documented
