Mechanical Engineer | Cork | Advanced Mechanical Projects
A leading M&E firm is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join its growing project delivery team in Cork. This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale pharmaceutical and industrial developments, contributing to technically demanding builds in a high-performing, safety-conscious environment.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical systems across the project lifecycle from initial design reviews through to commissioning and final handover. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring work is delivered on time, on budget, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with mechanical design coordination, procurement tracking, and on-site technical support
  • Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure technical compliance and buildability
  • Monitor installation works, conduct inspections, and maintain documentation for quality control and project records
  • Liaise with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to address technical queries and resolve issues efficiently
  • Support commissioning activities, including system checks, pressure testing, and handover documentation
  • Participate in site meetings and contribute to short-term planning with supervisors and project managers
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety standards and support ongoing risk assessments and compliance reviews
    What You’ll Bring:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or a recognised trade background with strong site-based engineering experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in mechanical project delivery, ideally on industrial or pharmaceutical construction projects
  • Sound knowledge of HVAC, pipework, and mechanical building services systems
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and commissioning plans
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced site environment
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • A detail-oriented mindset and commitment to quality and safety
