A leading main contractor that operates across Ireland, the UK and Mainland Europe, and specialises in the delivery of complex pharmaceutical, data centre, commercial and petrochemical infrastructure, is actively recruiting a Mechanical Engineer in Slough, London.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the design, coordination, and delivery of large-scale mechanical systems on fast-paced data centre projects. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical engineering packages from concept through to commissioning
  • Oversee design coordination between consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and specifications
  • Manage procurement of mechanical equipment and liaise with suppliers
  • Support site teams during installation, testing, and commissioning
  • Monitor progress, cost, and quality, reporting to project management
  • Provide mentoring and technical leadership to junior engineers
    Key requirements:
  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in mechanical engineering, ideally with exposure to data centre or mission-critical projects
  • Proven track record working for main contractors or large MEP firms
  • Deep understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC etc
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach
  • Willingness to travel or relocate for project-based work
