Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Monday to Friday | Shifts: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm

Up to £45,000 per annum

Role Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a dedicated maintenance team of 8 engineers (5 Electrical, 3 Mechanical) at a large UK manufacturing site. This role is 100% mechanically focused, supporting two key areas of the business: industrial component manufacturing and pharmaceutical production.

The position is hands-on and varied, covering a wide range of machinery. You'll be responsible for reactive maintenance (80%), planned preventative maintenance (PPM) (20%), and project-based engineering work to improve equipment reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities For The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations across both industrial and pharmaceutical production areas.
Complete weekly PPM tasks, working towards improving the site's preventative maintenance schedule.
Use the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) to manage and document tasks.
Support ongoing projects to upgrade or optimise production equipment.
Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain productivity.

Power Presses - Mix of modern and legacy equipment (some 40-50 years old)
Cleaning Plants

Packing Machinery
Key Skills and Experience For The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Strong mechanical maintenance background in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Experience with:

Motor replacements
Pneumatics and leak detection
Belts, chains, sprockets
Bearings, gearboxes
Able to work across both heavy industrial and clean, modern production areas.
