Manufacturing Development Scientist

Touchlight is looking for a highly competentManufacturing Development Scientistto join our Platform Development team within the R&D Department. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Platform Development.

A key responsibility will be toexecute manufacture of new products/platformscurrently within development. This will require a person with good manufacturing discipline with innate flexibility.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in amultidisciplinary laboratoryenvironment, is efficient with their conduction of manufacture & experimental execution. One who can deliver to the highest standards under the direction of the scientific management team.

A successful candidate will have exceptional skills in multi-tasking & organisation with a keen desire to question, challenge & improve currently held assumptions & procedures.

You have:

• Masters degree inBiochemistry / Chemistryor other similar disciplines.
• 2+ years industrial experiencegained in a Biotech and/or CDMO environment within a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Proven workingexperience with recombinant DNA cloning/gene assembly, and knowledge of cloning techniques includingGibsonandGolden Gate cloning;
• Experience withDNA analyticssuch as agarose gel electrophoresis, Capillary gel electrophoresis & quantification.
• Proactive and able toorganise ones own workandmanage key manufacturing timelines to meet client expectations.
• Ability to follow and to createSOPsand other types of manufacturing documentation (forms, logbooks, process instructions).
• Excellentproblem-solving skillswith the ability to react swiftly & decisively when faced with challenges.
• Exceptionalattention to detailand meticulous organisational skills
• Collaborativeandhighly adaptableindividual, eager to research and discuss solutions to process problems.
