As a Formulation Scientist at Medik8, you will report to the Formulation Manager and
be responsible for delivering highly technical projects and products. You will be an
in-house expert that will interact with several departments to ensure that each NPD
& EPD project meets the company's quality, safety, and efficacy standards.

You will be based at our Innovation Centre in Aylesbury, where we have a
state-of-the-art skincare suited laboratory and modern manufacturing rooms. This is
our epicentre for product development and by working closely with R&D, Supply
Chain, Manufacturing and Quality, you will play a crucial role in the development and
production of innovative skincare solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in skincare product research and
development, be a critical thinker and possess the ability to adapt to change and
work collaboratively to make our ambitious goals happen.

In more detail your role will include:

  1. Develops high-level formulas for skin care applications based on
    marketing specification and best solutions, considering risks, texture,
    performance, sustainability, stability, production, and costs and to deliver
    5-star products on time.
  2. Serves as expert in-house adviser on key scientific discipline areas and
    optimum blending procedures.
  3. Supports lab technicians and interns to ensure smooth lab operations.
  4. Proactively plans and devises research projects and experiments based
    on the latest formulation technologies and required claims.
  5. Keeps up to date with the latest trends and innovations of the industry,
    identifying first to market opportunities.

Requirements:

  1. 2 years of experience in skincare formulation is desirable.
  2. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related
    field.
  3. Strong project management and communication skills.
  4. Experienced in deadline-driven environments with ability to multi-task and
    remain calm under pressure.
  5. Have a ‘can do’ attitude and a passion for delivering high-quality products.
  6. Previous experience with HPLC, encapsulation technologies and
    intellectual property highly desirable.
  7. Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients and their interactions.
  8. Familiarity with cosmetic regulations and manufacturing processes.
