Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Preston, UK

Type: Full time permanent

Shift: Rotating shifts 5:45 am to 2 pm and 2 pm to 10:10 pm, Mon- Fri.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of electrical systems, machinery, and equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Your role will be vital in minimizing downtime, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine and reactive electrical maintenance on machinery, equipment, and plant facilities.
Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to ensure equipment reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults promptly to minimize production disruptions.
Assist with the installation, setup, and commissioning of new electrical equipment and machinery.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and update SOPs as needed.
Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to manage spare parts inventory, balancing cost and availability.
Support continuous improvement projects and contribute ideas for process enhancement.
Ensure a clean, safe working environment, adhering to health and safety policies and GMP standards.
Provide technical guidance and training to team members as required.

Requirements:

Recognized electrical engineering trade apprenticeship, HNC, or equivalent qualification.
At least 2 years' electrical maintenance experience within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, PLC systems, fault-finding, drives, sensors, and control components.
Experience working with manufacturing and packaging machinery.
Good understanding of health and safety standards, GMP, and SOP compliance.
Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent problem-solving skills, proactive approach, and team-oriented attitude.

Desirable:

Experience in the food or pharmaceutical industries and working in a clean manufacturing environment.
