MACHINIST

Transvac is a world leader in providing innovative, custom-designed Ejector systems for the process industries. With 50+ years of experience and thousands of Ejectors supplied, we have built a strong reputation backed by a comprehensive list of worldwide references across various industries, including energy, oil & gas, water, chemicals, food, and pharmaceuticals.

As both a designer and manufacturer, Transvac maintains full control over the design, raw material procurement, manufacturing, scheduling, and testing processes.

We are currently seeking a MACHINIST to join our busy Head Office in Alfreton, Derbyshire.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for performing operational functions on a variety of CNC Machining Lathes / Millers and or manual machines.

  • Skilled use of CNC, XYZ controls.

  • Conversant with engineering drawing practice.

  • Setting / operating and manufacturing a variety of small and medium components to tight tolerances.

  • Ability to deliver products to deadlines.

  • Use a wide range of measuring equipment to check components during manufacture.

  • To monitor tool wear, adjust offsets and replace inserts when necessary, ensuring correct operation of the machine at all times.

  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to Health and Safety procedures and policies.

  • Demonstrate good housekeeping practices.

  • Proactively identify and make recommendation for improvements.

  • Other reasonable tasks, at the request of management, commensurate with pay.

    Apprentice Trained

    Relevant Industry Experience

    Right to Work in the UK

    What We Offer

    Working hours are 06:55 – 15:25 Monday to Thursday and 06:55 – 12:55 on Fridays.

    Pay Rate £18.00-£19.00/hour

    Overtime: Hourly Rate + 1/2 for Monday – Saturday, Hourly Rate x 2 for Sunday

    33 days annual leave (including statutory days)
