The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a dedicated Life Science Sales Specialist in the West of England to sell life science products and services, acting as the primary point of contact for customers post-sale. This role focuses on customer satisfaction, retention, and business growth. In addition to face-to-face meetings, you will engage with customers via phone, email, chat, and video conferencing to close sales and support clients.

The Team

As a Life Science Sales Specialist , you will be part of a team of eight professionals specializing in selling life science products and services to customers across the West England.

What We're Looking For
Sales experience within a laboratory setting.

PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neurosciences, Biotechnology, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Proteomics, Agricultural Sciences, or Agronomy.

Strong business development and market knowledge skills.

Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork abilities.

Proficiency in Excel and CRM systems.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating reliability and confidence.

Full, clean driving license.

Commercially astute with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop customer relationships by visiting client sites within the assigned territory.

Promote and sell Avantor's life science solutions.

Support the field and inside sales teams through training, demonstrations, and technical expertise.

Analyze and share market trends, customer purchasing plans, and competitive insights.

Organize customer site events such as seminars, workshops, and user days.

Maintain accurate activity and opportunity data in CRM systems.

Lead complex sales projects from initial engagement to long-term strategic partnerships.

How You Will Thrive and Make an Impact

Reporting to the Life Sciences Sales Manager, you will collaborate closely with internal and external sales teams and marketing departments. You will take full responsibility for your geographic area and customer portfolio, driving sales and margin growth across Cell Culture, Molecular Biology, Genomics, Microscopy, and Proteomics products, including reagents, filtration, consumables, instrumentation, and related services.

Preferred Candidates

Candidates with expertise in Genomics, Genotyping, Imaging, Microscopy, Cell Culture, Cell Engineering, Flow Cytometry, Protein Purification, Sequencing are encouraged to apply, with a willingness to develop a sales career.
