Days of Work: 5 days Monday to Saturday ( must be able to work alternate Saturday mornings)

Hours per Week: 48 hours basic plus overtime (approx. shift hr 05:00 - 17:00 - 18:30)

Salary: £42,207.36 plus overtime and benefits listed below

Principle Job Purpose:

  • LGV Class 1 Link Driver

  • To ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of assembled products and invoices to the customer within corporate guidelines

    Responsibilities:

  • To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.

  • To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.

  • To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.

  • To abide by all tacho-graph laws and ensure daily/weekly rests are taken as required

  • Ensure all Proof of Deliveries listed on drop sheets have been delivered to customers and report any shortages to the transport department before leaving the customer.

  • Upon receipt of collection request, collect goods returned from external customers as instructed by the transport staff.

  • To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.

  • To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.

  • To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.

  • To check all orders shown on the dropsheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.

  • Ensure all trailer seal numbers are logged before departure and before opening at the service centre or external customer.

  • Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.

  • To maintain a smart appearance at all times.

  • To help maintain good customer relations.

  • To maintain at all times good communications with the transport staff based at the service centre.

  • To be involved in other duties as may be defined from time to time by the Management.

  • Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

  • About the Candidate and the type of person who would fit us best:Valid manual driver's licence with no more than 3 ‘live’ points on your licence

  • Proven experience as a LGV Driver or similar role.

  • Familiarity with local traffic laws and knowledge of assigned delivery points/routes.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.

  • Ability to work independently while adhering to delivery schedules.

  • Intermediate Numeracy and Literacy

  • Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable

  • Route planning experience
