Lead Research Scientist – Diffusion Modeling (Image/Video/3D)

London (Hybrid)

£170-230k base + equity

We're a well-funded seed stage start-up developing SOTA video-to-3D technology. We’re looking for an innovative, hands-on diffusion expert who thrives in a high-impact, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pioneer Diffusion Techniques: Develop state-of-the-art diffusion models for image, video, and/or 3D .
  • Pre-training Mastery: Own the end-to-end pipeline for pre-training advanced diffusion models – a critical requirement for this role.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of talented research scientists and engineers to drive innovation and deliver world-class results.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to implement and integrate cutting-edge generative models into user-facing products.
  • Strategic Insight: Influence product roadmaps and research agendas, ensuring alignment of scientific discoveries with commercial goals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Deep Expertise: Proven background in deep learning and diffusion-based generative modeling (image, video, or 3D).
  • Research Experience: Track record of published papers, patents, or open-source contributions in relevant fields (e.g., generative adversarial networks, diffusion models, 3D reconstruction).
  • Programming Proficiency: Strong skills in Python and familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to tackle complex challenges and translate research breakthroughs into practical applications.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience guiding research teams, with excellent communication and mentoring abilities.
