Lead Electrical Engineer

Reporting to: Term Framework Design Manager
Location: Macclesfield / Hybrid
Employment Period: Permanent

Role Overview:
The Lead Electrical Engineer will support the Term Framework Design Manager through provision of
Electrical Engineering, Design and Consultancy Services.
This is a challenging and diverse role operating in the highly regulated pharmaceutical sector.
The role will be undertaken on a part time basis (approx. 8 to 16hrs/week initially) alongside the role of
electrical project activities delivering projects.
The candidate will support our client in their journey in delivering clean energy solutions that are innovative,
sustainable, compliant, and cost effective.
We are looking for a high performer with significant technical competence, experience combined with
leadership qualities.
A collaborative approach, strong values, and excellent communication skills are essential qualities for this
role.
Role detail description:
The Lead Electrical Engineer will report directly to the Term Framework Design Manager and shall support
the efficient and effective running of the department.
In addition to an engineer's responsibilities the Lead Engineer will have the responsibility to support the Term
Framework Design manager in the following activities.
The post holder will:
? Assist Document control with interim audits of the electrical design team projects
? Liaise with the E&I design team to co-ordinate resource loading and assist the team to prioritise
their workload.
? Liaise with the E&I design team to have regular meetings within the Team (min. fortnightly)
? Assist the Term Framework manager with the production/review of design deliverables schedules
for project costing.
? Assist the Term Framework manager with the review of drawings and documentation in preparation
for submission to the client.
? Have a strong ability to identify, communicate and manage risk
Job Description:
? Undertake feasibility studies (Class D Estimates) and other tendering activities
? Support the effective delivery of projects to time, quality, and cost targets meeting client KPI's by
personal leadership or directing other members of the team
? Prepare or review and approve contract documentation including Scope of Work and Professional
Services Agreements for Design Subcontracts (i.e. Honeywell, ADT etc)
? Mentor / train other electrical team members including graduates and trainees.
? Support the term framework design manager to identify procedural and policy changes to improve
operational efficiency
? Provide effective, accurate & efficient technical advice to the Electrical Design Team
? Lead the Electrical Design Team in providing innovative, sustainable and value engineered
solutions to the projects.
? Work closely with the portfolio lead to achieve design deliverables in line with current project stage
gates
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
? Chartered/Incorporated Engineer or working towards Chartership
? Previous experience acting as Lead Electrical Engineer
? Building services design
? Electrical & instrumentation design
? Degree in electrical engineering related subject preferable.
? Strong understanding of design process & associated documentation
? Have significant experience in the application of Building regulations to assist with compliance with
Principal Designer (Building Regulations) duties.
? Extensive knowledge of BS7671
? Knowledge of Fire System design in accordance with BS5839
? Hazardous Area (ATEX) design in accordance with BS EN (phone number removed) with Compex qualifications
preferred
? Have significant experience in the application of electrical design Standards
? Project lifecycle experience (i.e. RIBA)
? Working knowledge of industrial HV and LV distribution systems - specialising in LV distribution.
? Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 together with experience of undertaking 'Designer' and
'Principal Designer' Duty holder roles
? Experience in digital engineering tools and technologies
? Knowledge of quality assurance, accounting, data and administrative management practices and procedures.

Salary between £50-65k Permanent role Hybrid working Macclesfield design department
Band 2 car allowance (£425)
