LABORATORY TECHNICIAN Ai Services (NI) Ltd Newtownabbey / Northern Ireland Salary c£24K per annum Full time temporary position to cover period of Maternity Leave AI Services (NI) Ltd wish to recruit a Lab Technician to join our established team to assist with the collection and processing of bull semen for artificial insemination use. This role is to provide cover for a period of maternity leave lasting up to one year, but there may also be an opening for a permanent position thereafter, due to the ongoing redevelopment and expansion of our bull stud and laboratory facilities. Essential criteria: - Degree in science-related topic High level of manual dexterity Flexible and able to work as part of a team Excellent record keeping Proficient in the use of IT systems Desirable criteria: Laboratory experience Full clean driving licence (max 3 points) Key Duties: Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety protocols and Best Lab practice Assist in the running of the EU approved semen laboratory at Ballycraigy A.I. Centre, to include the preparation and processing of semen Maintenance of high levels of hygiene in lab at all times Recording and reporting of lab production data Maintaining levels of stocks of materials required for production Quality control / assessing semen quality before and after processing Transfer of semen to storage facility and preparation for dispatch All necessary training will be provided Please apply with an up to date CV and supporting documentation.
