The Company:

The REAL Co. is a pioneer in the non-alcoholic beverage sector, utilising advanced fermentation techniques to create sophisticated alcohol-free drinks. Since 2017, we have been serving our REAL branded alcohol-free Sparklings in both the prestige on-trade and through many of the leading multiple retailers. We also work with multiple retailers, food service providers, and large and small brands to develop and manufacture innovative alcohol-free products under their own brands ranging from non-alcoholic wines and beers to functional drinks. The Role:

We are seeking an ambitious Lab Technician to support our Quality Control team. The successful candidate will maintain a clean and organised laboratory environment, conduct essential analyses in a timely manner, and assist in various R&D projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our quality assurance efforts within a dynamic and fast-growing company.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Daily Lab Management
  2. Conduct chemical and microbiological analyses.
  3. Ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained.
  4. Provide QA/QC support and assist in lab accreditation processes.
  5.  Microbial Cultures
  6. Store and maintain frozen microbial cultures.
  7. Perform cellular plating and propagation.
  8. Oversee growth and maintenance of primary and secondary cultures.
  9. Shelf-Life Management
  10. Manage shelf-life stock and conduct scheduled testing.
  11. Oversee shelf-life storage and ensure proper management.
  12. R&D Support
  13. Collaborate on specific R&D projects, providing necessary laboratory support.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in microbiology, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a microbiology lab or similar environment is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational abilities and a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Confident working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in Google Docs and Sheets.
  • Basic knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Manufacturing Hygiene.
