About This Role

Joining us as Key Account Manager, your role is central to ensuring we continue to deliver on our company ambition of expanding access for patients across our biosimilars portfolio. This role has full accountability for the development and implementation of a local business plan which aligns to our national strategy and delivers commercial results through appropriate prioritisation and deployment of company resources. In order to succeed as Key Account Manager, you will build productive relationships with local commissioning and clinical customers to identify opportunities where our biosimilar portfolio and value services can support delivery within the local health economy.

Candidates are required to live within the stated territory for this role.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement effective regional and strategic account plans to maximize territory sales.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with all key stakeholder groups including Payor and high-level clinical customers within ICSs and Trusts to drive Biosimilar utilisation for newly launched and established Biosimilar products.
  • Drive awareness of our value proposition to ensure optimal positioning and uptake of the Biosimilar portfolio of medicines, whilst partnering with the NHS to support the implementation of Biosimilars, progressing regional tender outcomes and support protocol development & pathway improvement.
  • You will have full accountability and autonomy, flexing your entrepreneurial skills to drive your business.
  • All of this will be done in keeping with Biosimilar brand objectives and strategy as part of a small and agile UK & Ireland team.


How you will be successful:

  • Accountable for understanding your customer environment and delivery of territory sales through planning and execution of the sales and marketing strategy.
  • You will be accountable for the development, execution, and continuous updating of regional business plan and strategic account plans across your territory.
  • Adopt an omni-channel approach to customer engagements which balances both face to face and digital interactions to build and maintain productive relationships with key decision makers across healthcare system networks, including relevant payors from ICSs, Health Boards, Trusts, and clinical teams across the territory.
  • Utilise digital tools, sales data, and customer insights to support strategic account management activities.
  • Seek to gain consent from all customers to ensure you can effectively leverage a multi-channel approach.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with colleagues, e.g, Market Access, Marketing, and Medical to share insights and support territory activities effectively.
  • Demonstrate industry-leading understanding of biosimilar manufacturing, biosimilar implementation, and key data on promoted biosimilar products.
  • Have an in depth understanding of the NHS landscape and associated processes to enable you to effectively partner with key stakeholders within your territory.
  • Alignment with Biogen's Code of Conduct, compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Keep timely documentation (the following list is not limited) - Expense reports, Compliance related tasks, CRM/Veeva system inputs, Adverse event reporting to drug safety.


Who You Are

You are a commercially astute and highly motivated account manager with a deep understanding of the NHS landscape and a proven ability to drive meaningful health system change. You thrive in building strong, collaborative relationships with both commissioning and clinical stakeholders, and you're passionate about improving patient access through innovative solutions. With a strong track record in pharmaceutical sales, you bring a strategic mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and a data-driven approach to delivering results in a complex and evolving environment.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • ABPI qualification
  • Experienced in working across clinical customers, hospital pharmacy/payer customers and NHS commissioning customers to deliver local pathway optimisation and health system changes within ICSs and Trusts.
  • Ability to develop strong productive networks in order to engage stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret sales data to better understand sales trends and territory landscape and use this data to support decision making and development of effective regional and strategic account plans.
  • Experience working in Rheumatology required
  • A drive for success by being self-directed, self-confident, and self-motivated with a positive can-do mindset.
  • Proven history of reaching and exceeding sales targets within a pharmaceutical sales role.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to demonstrate strong cross functional working at all levels internally and externally.
  • High scientific and technical knowledge within the pharmaceutical industry.


Desirable Skills:

  • Biosimilar background and experience are preferrable but not essential.
  • Experience working in Gastroenterology and Ophthalmology disease areas is desirable but not essential.
