Key Account Manager – Cystic Fibrosis/Ophthalmology – UK


Our client is an international specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to maintaining access to clinically differentiated, niche medicines in small patient populations.


Their high-impact portfolio treats patients in more than 70 countries.


They are proactive in identifying low volume, difficult-to-manufacture therapeutic products, and late-stage clinical development assets that target rare diseases.


They are seeking a dynamic and motivated Key Account Manager North UK to join their commercial team. The individual will be responsible for promoting and selling pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals, including doctors, pharmacists, and hospitals. The Key Account Manager will work to achieve sales targets, build relationships with healthcare providers, and increase product awareness in their territory.


Key Activities/Responsibilities include:


  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and objectives set by the company
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the healthcare environment within your assigned region, including key healthcare providers and decision-makers
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with healthcare professionals, including doctors, pharmacists, and medical staff
  • Educate healthcare professionals on the proper use and benefits of the pharmaceutical products
  • Track and report on sales activities, customer interactions, and market feedback to management


Qualifications/Experience required:


  • Outstanding understanding of the NHS and the NHS modernisation agenda
  • A high level of clinical and market knowledge, ideally within the Respiratory/Ophthalmology therapy areas
  • Evidence of successfully working with formulary submissions
  • Established record of sales success in previous roles, demonstrating a proven track record in influencing the prescribing and decision-making process across hospitals and primary care, through good account management
  • Experience in rare disease would be desirable
  • Goal-oriented professional with a passion for sales and customer engagement
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and develop solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Responsible, Collaborative, Trustworthy, Dynamic
