My client is a leading biotechnology company providing leading microbiology services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, oil & gas, and food & drinks industries.


We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focusedKey Account Managerto manage and grow existing client relationships while supporting onboarding of new clients across microbiology and molecular biology services. You’ll play a critical role in driving sales revenue, ensuring customer satisfaction, and contributing to the growth of the business.


This role requires a blend of consultative sales, account management, and operational coordination — ideal for someone passionate about biotechnology and building lasting client partnerships. You will have the opportunity to shape sales processes, engage with clients across multiple industries and progress your career within the business as it grows.


Key Responsibilities

Account Management & Growth

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of key clients across company service lines.
  • Build trusted relationships to retain and expand existing accounts through upselling and cross-selling.
  • Understand customer needs and ensure delivery of exceptional service, resolving issues proactively.
  • Develop tailored proposals and quotations aligned with client requirements and budgets.
  • Act as the bridge between scientific and commercial teams to set clear expectations and support delivery
  • Identify new revenue opportunities within existing accounts and develop action plans to realise them.



Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Proven experience in account management or customer success, preferably within biotech, life sciences, or technical services sectors.
  • Experience selling microbiology or molecular biology services.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a consultative sales approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Comfortable managing multiple accounts and priorities with a structured, detail-oriented approach.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and a data-driven mindset.
