Director HTA Biostatistics (Medical Affairs) Job IDREQ-10011226 United Kingdom Summary We are in search of aDirector/Senior Director, Health Technology Assessment (HTA)Biostatistics, with statistical expertise in HTA and Pricing andReimbursement activities. This role offers the chance to providestatistical solutions to HTA problems. The successful candidatewill work closely with International Value & Access and HEORteams to shape ways of working for Joint Clinical Assessment inEurope to ensure high-quality deliverables. About the Role OurDevelopment Team is guided by our purpose: to reimagine medicine toimprove and extend people’s lives. This role offershybrid working, requiring 3 days per week in our London office. KeyAccountabilities: - Accountable for strategic statistical input andinfluence into one or more projects (clinical development plan,integrated evidence generation strategy, publication strategy,market access strategy, pricing & reimbursement strategy) -Lead implementation of efficient and innovative statisticalmethodology in HTA (indirect treatment comparison methods such as(network)-meta-analysis, population-adjusted methods, etc.),reimbursement activities, clinical trials, and observationalresearch to accelerate patient access considering requirementsacross the globe (Europe, Asia Pacific and other geographies). -Lead collaborations with Health Economics and Outcome Research,Market Access, and other strategic functions to drive quantitativedecision making in assigned indications/program. - Plan, prioritizeand oversee project level activities and ensure efficient resourcemanagement within or across franchise and effective partnershipwith vendors. - Support responses to payer requests and/orinteractions. Actively contribute to internal and externalscientific interactions with decision making agencies andhealthcare professionals. - Responsible for all statistical work,scientific and operational, in collaboration with cross-functionaland cross-regional partners. - Ensure quality, timely andconsistency of statistical deliverables, organizational learning,and knowledge through consistent application of processes &best practices. - Support selection of external vendors and overseethem for outsourced activities - Keep up to date with industrytrends, advancements in HTA, and innovative statistical methodology(particularly in methods applicable to observational research areaof HTA) to maintain proficiency in applying new and varied methodsand to be competent in justifying methods selected. - Communicatestatistical findings and recommendations to non-statisticalstakeholders in a clear and understandable manner. - Develop andmentor biostatisticians on statistical methodologies and processes.Your experience: - PhD with 8+ years’ experience preferred or MSwith 12+ years’ experience with a degree emphasis in Statistics,Mathematics or equivalent quantitative field - Advanced knowledgeof applying statistics (especially indirect treatment comparisonmethods such as (network)-meta-analysis, population-adjustedmethods, etc.) and innovative approaches in experimental design andcausal inference method. - Expertise in HTA, reimbursement processand regulations, including key decision drivers and reviewprocesses for key international markets and strong understanding ofregulatory authority processes, and drug development. - Ability tomanage parallel multiple projects in different therapeutic areas.Why Novartis: Helping people with disease and their families takesmore than innovative science.
