As a Consultant Psychiatrist at KMPT, you will lead a collaborative team providing high-quality care to Maidstone and surrounding communities. This community-based role involves flexible and collaborative work with two other consultants in the Maidstone Mental Health Team.

Applicants should ideally have MRCPsych or equivalent, be on, or within six months of, the Specialist Register, fully registered with the GMC, and possess Approved Clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or achieve these within 3 months of starting).

Main duties of the job

  1. Provide clinical leadership within the Maidstone Mental Health Team alongside two other Consultants.
  2. Provide medical input to patients under the care of the Mental Health Team.
  3. Support individuals with complex mental disorders as part of a vibrant team.
  4. Strengthen relationships with external agencies, including the local PCN.

    Person specification

    Training, Qualifications and Registration

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • GMC registration with a license to practice
  • On the GMC Specialist Register or within six months
  • Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months
  • Higher degree in medical education, research, or management
  • Additional clinical qualifications
  • Good standing with GMC

    Transport

  • Valid UK driving license or alternative evidence
