Head Veterinary Nurse - Modern Facilities - Washington

Location:Tyne and Wear

We are seeking a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to work alongside an experienced leadership team.

The practice is a well-equipped clinic, boasting dedicated wards, a large waiting room with segregated cat and dog areas, and a spacious preparation area with a separate imaging suite.

Modern equipment includes digital x-ray, dental x-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, physiotherapy laser, and in-house haematology and biochemistry machines.

There is a close-knit team of dedicated and passionate Vets, Nurses, and Receptionists.

You will be responsible for:

1. Managing the performance of the practice on a day-to-day basis.
2. Ensuring all team members provide quality care to all clients and their pets.
3. Ensuring compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
4. Ensuring all members of the nursing staff are aware of their roles and job descriptions, working to clear objectives set.
5. Carrying out regular performance reviews and updating training requirements where necessary.
6. Supporting Clinical Coaches with the planning of student tutorials and training where necessary.
7. Rota management to always provide adequate cover of staff within the practice.
8. Maintaining patients’ medical records.
