Position: Senior Sales Manager

The Role

We are looking for a driven and experiencedSenior Sales Managerto lead commercial efforts across Europe. In this role, you will spearhead the expansion of our customer base, establish partnerships across the biopharma ecosystem, and drive adoption of our core platform for protein analysis and quantification.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy Development

  • Develop and execute a European commercial strategy for protein and viral vector quantification applications in line with company objectives.
  • Define and deliver on both short- and long-term sales targets and KPIs, with a focus on customer acquisition and account expansion.

Customer Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Identify, engage, and build relationships with key decision-makers in biotech companies, CDMOs, and research institutions across Europe.
  • Independently manage customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
  • Represent the company at industry events, customer sites, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and product adoption.
  • Deliver tailored sales presentations that clearly communicate product value.
  • Gather and relay customer feedback to internal teams to support continuous improvement.

Sales Forecasting and Reporting

  • Monitor and report on European sales activity and performance metrics related to target applications.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and data-driven recommendations to support resource allocation and business planning.

Sales Process Optimisation

  • Continuously assess and improve the sales process to enhance efficiency and results.
  • Implement and maintain best practices within the sales team, including effective use of CRM tools to manage leads and sales pipelines.

Market and Competitor Analysis

  • Stay up to date on market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments.
  • Use insights to refine sales approaches and maintain a competitive advantage.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with R&D to tailor demonstrations and product improvements to customer needs.
  • Partner with marketing to align on messaging and develop customer-driven marketing materials.
  • Support cross-functional efforts to maximise customer impact and sales outcomes.

Candidate Profile

We welcome applications from candidates with a strong background in life science sales, particularly those who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Prior experience in a start-up or scaling company is highly desirable.

Location:Based near Cambridge, UK (or commutable), with up to 60% travel across the UK and Europe.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline (e.g., biology, biochemistry).
  • In-depth understanding of lab automation and analytical instrumentation in bioprocessing.
  • 7+ years of sales experience, including 3+ years in a senior sales role.
  • Demonstrated success in exceeding sales goals and building long-term customer relationships.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • CRM proficiency (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Europe and the UK.
