Job Purpose

To carry out Lab production duties and projects, working flexibly and maintaining the highest possible skill and productivity levels in all areas of production. Assist the Laboratory Supervisor with daily operations. To carry out QC testing and maintain QC records. To train others to achieve high competency levels.

Key Responsibilities

·Assist the Laboratory Supervisor to ensure production work, project work and QC testing is done efficiently, effectively, continuously improving the work of the team(s), and making the best use of the time available.

·Ensure that work instructions and procedures are clearly understood, and that tasks are carried out in the most efficient and safest way

·Ensure all production and project work is logged, recorded and monitored and to make sure task is completed in good time

·Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with customer safety, is accurately completed, and meets good presentation standards

·Work collaboratively with other team members and production management, to ensure the most efficient and effective service for customers

·Set a good example to team members, ensuring that maximum productivity is achieved

·Assist other teams, as required by work priorities, re-allocating self and team members to other areas as necessary to meet customer demand

Maintain accurate records for stock control, QC testing and production monitoring purposes

·When withdrawing items from stock, ensure accurate withdrawal and recording to prevent errors

·Maintain production, quality and performance records as appropriate, both handwritten and computerised

·Monitor record keeping by the team to ensure it is done accurately

Identify new methods of working and improve working practices

·Contribute actively to improvement activity, thinking about the way work is done and improving in collaboration with other team members

·Make suggestions to other team members and management about improvements to work processes and products/services

Qualifications

· Chemistry Degree

·Valid driving licence
