Join our team as a Part-time General Practitioner and help to provide essential support to active ADF members. In this role, you will work in a modern, well-equipped facility alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional care.
Details of Appointment
Provide essential support to active ADF members on a part-time basis, working up to 15 hours per week every Wednesday and Friday (no weekends).

ADF Health Services provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. As part of this contract, Serco, in partnership with Bupa, provide defence-ready clinical and support staff across 50+ on-base locations nationally, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.

About the role
As the General Practitioner, you will provide high-quality primary medical care in line with professional standards and Defence protocols. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic healthcare, assess fitness for duty and support pre- and post-deployment medical needs, offer expert medical advice to Defence leadership and work across both outpatient and inpatient care settings, as needed.
As the ideal applicant you will have:
A current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM), Vocational Registration or equivalent suitable experience and training as assessed by the Commonwealth
At least 2 years’ full-time experience in general practice setting within the last 5 years
Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA
A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification
Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a baseline Defence Security Clearance
About the Location
Stirling Health Centre is located approximately 45km South of Perth on Garden Island, HMAS Stirling provides operational and logistics support to the RAN ships, submarines and aircraft based in WA. The base is home to RAN Submarine Training & Systems Centre, Training Centre West complex, Defence Communications Station Perth, and is a trials/research & support facility. Health Centre services include primary medical, underwater medicine, nursing, mental health, physiotherapy, dental and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements).
