AECOM’s façade engineering team are seeking a talented and technicalFaçade Engineerto Join our team in ourLondonoffice.

We are a close core team of façade engineers currently delivering the design of a host of projects in the UK, Ireland and further afield in a range of sectors, including Healthcare, Residential, Commercial, Transport, Sports, Mixed Use and Retrofit. Many of these are delivered as part of a multi-discipline AECOM design team, in collaboration with our Sustainability, Fire, Structures, MEP, Lighting, Acoustics, Energy, Cost and/ or Project Management consultants and other Specialist teams. Our team also delivers work to external clients as a direct appointment.

To be successful in this role you will assume general responsibilities for façade consultancy input to a wide range of clients and projects and will pro-actively contribute to the growth of AECOM’s Façade Engineering team’s capabilities.

The façade team are currently working on a range of projects, demonstrated by the contrast of the projects selected below:

  • The refurbishment of Foster and Partner’s 10 Gresham Street in London in parallel to the new HS2 Birmingham Interchange Station.
  • The site installation of Eric Parry’s Salisbury Square Development in London alongside the design of a new pharmaceutical laboratory in Brussels.
  • The design of a new high performance glazed commercial development over the top of Liverpool Street Station in parallel to a heritage sensitive design for a converted Grade II listed water tower outside of the City.


What you’ll do!

Successful candidates should have experience of some of the following duties associated with the role. Experience of all is not essential:

  • Implement a holistic engineering approach on our projects to encompass performance, buildability and aesthetic considerations.
  • Develop facade solutions from concept to implementation with a range of façade systems and materials.
  • Work directly with our clients, the wider design team and supply chain, building positive relationship.
  • Carry out and review engineering analyses such as thermal, structural, and embodied carbon.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

Requirements:

  • Experience in the façade industry and of dedicated façade consultancy experience.
  • A strong ability to communicate effectively, to be client-facing and to write concise and clear reports.
  • A working understanding of system design considerations, performance analysis of the systems and testing procedures
  • A technical thirst to develop tools and carry out calculations.
  • Knowledge of relevant façade & structural software, eg. Strand 7, SJ MEPLA, Therm or Flixo, Autocad, Revit.Ability to use all Microsoft Office and related packages.
  • Digital skills such as 2D and 3D modelling in CAD, Revit and/or Rhino


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An engineering degree.
  • Façade Engineering Masters.
