Role: Toxicologist (Environmental Analytical Chemistry)

Location: Remote, UK Coverage


We are currently seeking anIndependent Analytical Chemistry Technical AssessorinToxicology. Our external Technical Assessors play a vital role in the UKAS assessment process, providing essential expertise to deliver robust evaluations for laboratories across the UK.


Ongoing right to work in the UK is a pre-requisite of this position.


Ideal candidates will have experience in toxicology or workplace drug testing, along with the following qualifications:


  • Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025accredited testing laboratory.
  • A deep understanding of quality control across a range of analytical techniques.
  • A thorough knowledge of data performance checks and data integrity requirements.
  • Experience handling relevant matrices involved intoxicology testing.
  • Direct experience with both screening and instrumental techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with laboratory staff, management, and customers at all levels.



Key Skills:

  • Proven practical experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Up-to-date and detailed knowledge relevant to your field of expertise, including industry-standard methods and relevant sector schemes.
  • Proven experience inISO/IEC 17025standard testing and calibration laboratories.
  • Some experience in internal or external auditing would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of effectively communicating with Certification Body staff, Senior Management Teams, Assessment Centres, and customers at all levels.
  • Full training will be provided to become an Assessor in Report Writing to UKAS requirements, including ISO/IEC 17024:2012 standard awareness and UKAS systems training.
