Job Description


Planet Pharma are working with a global leader in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. They specialise in drug development, manufacturing, and delivery technologies. Their expertise spans areas like biologics, gene therapy, and consumer health products. They supports the entire lifecycle of products, from development to commercial supply, and is known for producing billions of doses annually for a wide range of treatments.


Objective:

The maintenance technician will be responsible for front line maintenance and break down response on a shift basis working a rotating shift pattern.


This is a key role in maintaining continuity in production at our Rhymney manufacturing facility. The main objective of this role is to keep manufacturing assets safely operational to ensure that the production targets are met consistently through planned and reactive maintenance. Problem solving on a range of assets to fix failures initially then follow up to prevent repeat failures. The role covers a broad range of activities including maintenance, repair and continuous improvement activities on production equipment, chemical process plant, textile and conversion equipment, air compressors, boilers, chiller plant, HVAC, Building Management Systems, SCADA systems.


Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Maximising the uptime of the Rhymney site by performing planned and reactive maintenance and continuous improvement of process and facilities equipment.
  • Use of plant metrics e.g. OEE, plant downtime to drive continuous improvement of process equipment.
  • Support the effective integration of new machinery/technology into Rhymney operations.
  • Electrical and mechanical problem solving and fault diagnosis across full site.
  • Responsible for the health and safety of themselves and others at all times during engineering interventions.
  • To maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and GMP in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to determine appropriate safety standards for new and existing equipment and methods of installation.


Requirements:

  • An understanding of clean room or controlled environment controls i.e. HVAC, Humidity and Pressure Cascades etc.
  • Broad experience in Electrical Systems, Operations and Maintenance, with proven ability in the management of site infrastructure systems and services, such as: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems and controls, Fire Protection systems, LV Electrical networks.
  • Fluent PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, plus ideally MS Project, CAD.
