Are you ready to lead a dynamic engineering team in a challenging industrial environment? We have a unique opportunity for an accomplished Engineering Manager to oversee the engineering and maintenance functions within one of our strategic sites. This role places you in the heart of operations, managing essential engineering functions for a well-established and safety-conscious heavy industry facility.

About the Role:

In this key leadership position, you will be the go-to person for all engineering activities, acting as the statutory competent authority for the maintenance functions in accordance with relevant regulations. You will drive the maintenance KPIs and standards, ensure safety protocols are embedded in every process and keep environmental impacts in check-all while managing equipment reliability and costs.

You will also:

  • Develop and implement local maintenance policies in alignment with industry standards and legal requirements
  • Lead health, safety, and environmental improvement initiatives across the site
  • Strategically plan, budget, and execute capital projects to optimise performance and tap into new resources
  • Oversee a team of dedicated professionals, fostering an inclusive and positive workplace culture

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We are looking for someone with adeep-rooted background in a heavy industrial environment such as mining, quarrying, tunnellingor similar setting and who thrives on improving processes and leading teams.

  • A degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Extensive experience in maintenance operations within heavy industry, ideally with mining or quarrying exposure
  • Experience of conveyors, hydraulics, material handling equipment and large diesel plant
  • Strong knowledge of safety management and compliance (NEBOSH or IOSH qualified)
  • Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies, such as WCM
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to inspire and motivate a team to improve performance
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
