Location: Warrington OR Macclesfield
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (Depending on experience) The opportunity Our client is currently looking for an experienced Electrical Designer to join their team and play a key role in delivering high-quality, technically robust electrical and instrumentation design solutions across a range of projects. You'll be providing support throughout the full project lifecycle – from concept to construction and commissioning – while working across multidisciplinary teams and liaising directly with clients and subcontractors.

This role involves hands-on design work, project collaboration, and a proactive approach to innovation and continuous improvement.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Deliver effective, accurate, and efficient Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) design services.
Produce electrical installation deliverables compliant with BS7671 and client specifications.
Ensure project deliverables meet time, cost, and quality expectations.
Develop documentation in line with standards and quality requirements.
Collaborate with design teams and equipment suppliers/subcontractors.
Contribute to innovative design solutions and improve performance
Interface with other disciplines including Mechanical, Process, HVAC, and Civil
Carry out site surveys and provide construction support
Produce a wide range of electrical design deliverables (2D & 3D)You will have the following qualifications and experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in E&I design, particularly within the UK water utility sector.
Strong knowledge of BS7671 - 18th Edition (IEE Wiring Regulations).
HNC or Degree in an engineering-related field.
Familiar with CDM Regulations 2015 and ‘Designer’ responsibilities
Strong understanding of E&I design best practices and project lifecycle.
Experience with hazardous area design and associated documentation.
Comfortable working independently or as part of a multi-discipline team.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Software Skills

Cable calculations, IS calculations, and hazardous area documentation
Building services design and digital communication network diagramsThe setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a pharmaceutical and chemical site. These can include noise, slips, trips and falls (high-gloss floors), mechanical hazards, extreme temperature and humidity, pressurised equipment, radiation, chemical, biological, explosive atmospheres, working at height and confined spaces during cleaning maintenance and repair.
