Lead Environmental, Health & Safety Excellence in a Global Automotive Environment

Are you an experienced EHS professional looking to drive real change in a high-impact leadership role? This is your opportunity to join a globally recognised automotive manufacturer undergoing a major period of investment and transformation.

Based at a large, high-volume production facility in High Peak, Derbyshire, this is a site leadership role where you'll play a critical part in reshaping safety, sustainability, and compliance across a dynamic manufacturing environment.

As EHS Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of robust Environmental, Health & Safety systems across the site, ensuring full compliance with UK regulations, ISO standards, and global best practices.

With the site entering a major modernisation and investment phase, you'll be deeply involved in CAPEX project support, ensuring EHS is embedded across new equipment, layouts, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will also line-manage a team of three direct reports and collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, engineering, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver the site EHS strategy in line with group objectives
Lead ISO compliance and site certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
Ensure full environmental compliance, including permitting, audits, and sustainability initiatives
Provide key EHS support on all CAPEX and site upgrade projects
Conduct and oversee risk assessments, root cause investigations, and corrective actions
Lead EHS training, internal committees, and employee engagement programmes
Manage EHS data reporting, metrics, and regulatory documentation
Be the site's main point of contact for compliance inspections and internal audits
Support workers' compensation investigations and occupational health initiatives
Promote behavioural safety and a zero-incident cultureYour Profile:

NEBOSH Diploma - essential
IEMA qualification - essential
Experience in a senior EHS role in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Proven experience supporting CAPEX projects and factory upgrades from an EHS perspective
Solid understanding of UK legislation and ISO 14001 / 45001 frameworks
Skilled in auditing, coaching, and engaging teams at all levels
Data-driven mindset and confident in managing EHS reporting systems
A degree is not essential, but relevant professional qualifications and practical experience are keyWhat is on Offer:
