We're seeking a Director - Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) to join our dynamic and growing team. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced EHS professional to drive compliance, innovation, and cultural excellence across environmental, health, and safety programs.
As the Director - EHS , you'll take the lead in ensuring our Coventry facility adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations. You'll be responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of all environmental, safety, and health programs, ensuring we meet both regulatory obligations and internal performance goals.
This position plays a vital role in shaping a proactive EHS culture, supporting new product and process introductions, and engaging with regulatory bodies as a trusted site representative.
Key Responsibilities Environmental Compliance & Strategy
Provide regulatory guidance during new product/process introductions, including emissions, hazardous waste, and wastewater management.

Ensure full compliance with site-specific air permits, LDAR programs, and emissions tracking.

Lead facility-wide hazardous waste program in accordance with RCRA requirements.

Manage Clean Water Act compliance and the site's wastewater pre-treatment discharge permit.

Program Leadership & Implementation
Own the development, training, and ongoing oversight of site environmental plans, including:
Leak Detection and Repair Plan (LDAR)

Storm Water Management

Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC)

Integrated Contingency Planning

Slug Control Plans

Lead submission of critical environmental reports:
SARA 312 and 313

TRI Reporting

RCRA Biennial Reports

Rhode Island Air Inventory

Serve as the primary contact for state and federal agencies on all EHS compliance matters.

Occupational Safety & Health Program Oversight
Manage site-wide safety programs including:
Safe Work Permit system

Industrial hygiene protocols

Health & Safety audits, incident investigation

Medical surveillance and respiratory protection programs

Ensure OSHA compliance across all relevant standards and maintain necessary documentation.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field required.

15+ years of EHS experience , with at least 5 years in a manufacturing setting.

Strong working knowledge of:
RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act

OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926

Hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined space, respiratory protection, and emergency planning

Experience engaging directly with regulatory agencies and waste vendors.

Rhode Island regulatory experience is a plus .

Proven track record in EHS program management, reporting, and audits.
