Job Description

Gilead Sciences, Inc. is a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops and commercialises innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need. With each new discovery and investigational drug candidate, we seek to improve the care of patients living with life-threatening diseases around the world. Gilead’s therapeutic areas of focus include HIV/AIDS, liver diseases and cancer.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial Operations function to lead the Digital and Field Enablement team to support the commercial business to deliver on their objectives. The position will lead a team of 6 people.

The roles within the team are: Innovation lead, Digital leads x 2, Field Enablement leads x 2, Veeva Vaults Business Partner.

The role reports to: Senior Director, Commercial Operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Digital and Field Enablement team to develop and drive the Gilead UK and Ireland commercial strategy for Digital, Innovation, and Field Teams Excellence.
  • Digital Marketing: Deliver significant, innovative leaps forward in digital platforms, omnichannel marketing, measurement and efficiency that have commercial impact, and drive commercial outcomes across the affiliate.
  • Innovation: ensure Gilead UK and Ireland utilises evolving innovations to the benefit of the business and its employees, particularly in the omnichannel and AI space.
  • Field Force Excellence: Use digital, innovation, analytics and data platforms across the affiliate to deliver reliable, joined up operations that facilitate external interactions and activity.
  • Work closely with other Commercial Operations functional leads in the UK, ACE and Enterprise, building a network and personally championing excellence in how we engage externally.
  • Network with Digital and Field Enablement business leads across Gilead ACE (Australia, Canada, Europe).
  • Accountable for the team’s contribution to field team excellence – CRM system, activity measures, omnichannel measurement and interpretation, KPIs, Sales Incentive Schemes.
  • Ensure reliable delivery and lead optimisation of the platforms we use – Veeva Vaults CRM, Veeva Vaults Promomats, Veeva Event Management and constantly seek advances and efficiencies.
  • Oversee budget planning and tracking across the team, making prioritisation decisions as appropriate.
  • Develop talent and skills within a high performing Digital and Field Enablement team.

Experience:

Educated to minimum of degree level, preferably post degree qualification.

Extensive experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, with strong leadership experience in customer engagement, omnichannel, digital platforms and field team excellence and analysis.

Strong understanding and experience of strategic and tactical marketing.

Demonstration of results focussed initiatives and working.

Experience of leading change management in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Leadership and development of high performing teams in the digital/omnichannel space.
