Director of Biostatistics – Oncology / Immuno-Oncology

Location:UK (remote flexibility offered)


We are seeking an accomplishedDirector of Biostatisticsto join our client's Global Biostatistics & Programming team. This strategic, individual contributor role will focus onOncology and Immuno-Oncologyprograms across all clinical phases (with an emphasis on Phases I–III), providing expert statistical leadership to advance their cutting-edge pipeline.

This is a high-impact role with broad visibility across Clinical Development, offering the opportunity to shape development strategy and influence key decisions at a global level.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic statistical leadership forClinical Development Plansin Oncology / Immuno-Oncology programs.
  • Collaborate closely with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Biomarkers, Medical Affairs, and other key stakeholders to drive data-driven decisions.
  • Oversee all statistical activities for assigned programs, includingstudy design, analysis planning, and regulatory submission support.
  • Partner withStudy Statisticiansto ensure statistical rigor across study-level deliverables.
  • Supportregulatory interactionsand global submission packages, providing expert input on statistical methodology and documentation.
  • Apply advanced statistical methods includingBayesian frameworksandsurvival analysisto guide innovative trial design and interpretation.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and influence development strategies without formal line management responsibilities.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • PhD or MSc in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience(10+ years) in clinical biostatistics, with a focus ononcology or immuno-oncologydrug development.
  • Proven track record of statistical leadership inPhase I–III clinical trials.
  • Demonstrated ability to providestrategic inputto early and late-stage development programs.
  • Expertise in statistical methodologies relevant to oncology, includingBayesian approachesandsurvival models.
  • Strong experience withregulatory submissions, including responding to Health Authority queries.
  • Skilled inleading cross-functional teams, influencing without authority, and coordinating statistical input across diverse functions (e.g., Biomarkers, Medical Affairs).
  • Ability to work independently as ahigh-level individual contributorin a global matrix environment.
