Director Biostatistics (Global statistical lead)

Remote - UK


We're partnered with aglobal, innovation-driven biopharmaceutical company in search of a Director Biostatisticsto drive strategic leadership in statistical science across the full drug development lifecycle, from early clinical research through to regulatory submission and post-marketing evidence generation. The environment ishighly collaborative and cross-functional, involving coordination across clinical development, medical affairs, real-world evidence (RWE), biomarkers, and safety functions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic statistical leadership at the compound level in oncology, supporting end-to-end clinical development, evidence generation, and regulatory/payer strategy.
  • Represent statistical functions in global regulatory and payer interactions, including authoring and guiding content for submissions, briefing packages, and HTA dossiers.
  • Lead cross-functional statistical teams across clinical, medical affairs, safety, biomarker, and RWE functions to ensure scientific integration and quality.


Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

  • PhD (or MSc with equivalent experience) in Biostatistics or Statistics.
  • Experience with complex oncology designs (e.g., basket/umbrella trials, tumour-agnostic strategies), adaptive designs, and indirect comparisons.
  • Familiarity with Bayesian methods, external controls, and AI/ML applications in clinical development.
