I’m working with a world-leading FMCG business as they continue to grow and drive their global procurement agenda with a period of sustained investment and transformation across strategic sourcing.

They seek a Direct Procurement Lead to lead direct procurement projects globally, designing sustainable and resilient sourcing strategies, managing complex supplier relationships and driving key value creation initiatives.

The role sits within the global procurement hub centred in the UK, which provides strategic oversight for all global procurement alongside designing sourcing processes and implementing innovative new procurement strategies across the world. Your role will be central in devising procurement strategy across the UK, Europe and the US, working with stakeholders and suppliers across these regions to ensure all procurement is both cost effective and sustainable.

The role reports into the Global Procurement Director and you will have the autonomy to design sourcing strategy and have full ownership over supplier accounts. This is an ideal role for a direct procurement professional looking to take the step up into a global role, or for someone that would like more freedom and ownership.

Direct Procurement Lead, skills & attributes required:

  • Experience within direct sourcing is essential, ideally within FMCG, retail, food manufacturing, cosmetics or pharmaceuticals.
  • Previous experience leading sourcing projects or full category responsibility at a regional level is highly advantageous.
  • A strong communicator and influencer is required.

This is a position with the potential to be hugely enjoyable and one where a tangible, positive impact can be made. There is lots of scope for designing new strategy as well as updating existing processes to create an efficient sourcing model within a rapidly growing procurement function.

Biotech Jobs Salary Calculator 2025: Pinpoint Your True Worth in the UK Life‑Sciences Market

Why yesterday’s salary guide won’t cut it in today’s biotech landscape “Could I earn more elsewhere?” Every life‑sciences professional has whispered that question—perhaps after seeing a colleague jump to a new start‑up for a chunky raise, or hearing that a peer at a rival pharma company pocketed a surprise bonus.
