SYTECH is seeking an experienced Digital Forensics Laboratory Manager to lead our dynamic forensic team!

As a pivotal member of our organisation, you will take charge of the overall operations, efficiency, and strategic direction of our Digital Forensics Laboratory. Your leadership will ensure the technical accuracy and integrity of forensic services provided, while also creating a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and adherence to best practices within the lab.

In this role, you will not only manage a highly skilled team of forensic analysts and technicians but also collaborate closely with various stakeholders, ensuring that all laboratory processes comply with industry standards such as ISO 17025. You will provide mentorship and training to the team, inspiring them to excel in their work while maintaining an environment of accountability and ethical practices.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Digital Forensics Laboratory, ensuring compliance with established protocols and standards.
  • Manage staff and resources to ensure high-quality service delivery and efficiency in case handling.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance and quality control procedures in line with ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for laboratory staff on current forensic methodologies and best practices.
  • Act as a liaison between the laboratory and external stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, clients, and industry partners.
  • Lead the laboratory in strategic initiatives, research and development projects, and innovations in forensic technology.
  • Ensure the laboratory remains up to date with trends in digital forensics and cybersecurity.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
  • Significant experience in digital forensics, with a proven track record in laboratory management.
  • Deep knowledge of forensic tools and practices, as well as legal procedures related to digital evidence.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on mentoring and coaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex cases and provide expert testimony when required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCFP, GCFE, or similar are an advantage.

Travel between sites is an essential requirement of the role

Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 per annum-depending on your experience, skills, and qualifications, plus the opportunity for growth based on your performance and contributions to the role.
