Evolve is supporting with the recruitment for a leading organisation with an excellent reputation in delivering first-class care for patients in both Primary and Secondary Care throughout the UK.

Our client is building a team of Diabetes Specialist Nurses to start ASAP, with the aim of delivering high quality care to patients in Primary Care and improving patient outcomes across Bedfordshire.

As a Diabetes Specialist Nurse, you will be pro-actively identifying sub-optimally controlled patients with Type 2 diabetes, optimising their oral therapy, conducting point of care testing and referring for specialist insulin treatment where necessary, all whilst exercising corporate nursing responsibilities.

Specific territories are to be defined based on the successful candidates.

These are field based positions which involve travelling to different locations, so a full driving licence and a willingness to travel is a must.

These are permanent positions ideally working full time (Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm but this depends on travel to & from the practice). Part time hours may be considered if required (4 days per week).

Salary & Package details:

Circa £45,000 DOE (Pro-rata for part time).

You will also receive an excellent benefits package including an annual bonus scheme, company car or car allowance (+ fuel card for business miles), pension, medical insurance, daily lunch allowance (when in practice), uniform, professional fees reimbursed, broadband contribution and more!

Ideal Requirements for the Diabetes Specialist Nurse

  • Current NMC registration and a minimum of 3 years’ experience (post registration) in managing diabetes within Primary Care.

  • Diabetes diploma or equivalent.

  • Knowledgeable and confident in the provision of education, support and advice to people with Type 2 Diabetes.

  • Skills and knowledge in the optimisation of oral hypoglycaemics.

  • IT literacy, to include Primary Care systems.

  • Full driving licence.
