We provide the analytical testing, scientific consultancy and regulatory support our customers need to develop and bring their product to market and ensure regulatory compliance.

Broughton’s analytical development activities are centered on our growing portfolios in our focus areas of Nicotine (reduced risk products), CBD and Pharma.

About this role

Are you passionate about scientific development with an abundance of experience in Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry and looking for that next professional challenge? Then we have the perfect opportunity for you to join our dynamic and growing team!

As a proven scientist with a track record of driving scientific development in a fast-paced environment, then you are an ideal prospect to join a team of motivated and skilled individuals as a Development Scientist within the Analytical Development group at Broughton.

In this role you will be a key player in ensuring the advancement of our scientific initiatives, ensuring the development, validation and on-time-delivery of high-quality methodologies and results our clients need to drive their products to market.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Generate and interpret data from a variety of sample types using many analytical techniques, drawing meaningful conclusions and reporting findings to both internal teams and external stakeholders. Work alongside passionate and accomplished scientists from various backgrounds, promoting creative problem-solving. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex scientific challenges and contribute to the development of innovative solutions and technologies. Establish validation protocols, working closely with Quality teams ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality requirements to produce robust, reliable methodologies and contributing to regulatory submissions. Provide expert guidance on scientific development and validation strategies, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and regulatory requirements. Actively contribute to the advancement of scientific research, in line with business needs and directions.

You will need to:

Demonstrate 2+ years’ experience within the field of Analytical Chemistry, demonstrated through publications, projects or industry collaborations Demonstrate 2+ years’ experience within the field of Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry within a regulated environment Show strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
